A message from our Minister
Your faith is meant to be a
vibrant and meaningful
experience of God's
Grace.
At Saint Andrew Christian
church, people are enthusiastically responding to
Christ's Call to work
together in ministry. We believe we are all Christians,
but not the only
Christians. In the
essentials of faith
there is unity, and in the
nonessentials of faith,
we respect diversity.
You are invited to come
and share and care in
this loving community at
Saint Andrew Christian
church.
In
Christian Love,

What is the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ)?
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is the first Protestant
movement founded on American soil, yet it is uniquely equipped to
live up to a declaration that it is ?A Church for Today.?
The denomination was born in the 1800s, and continues to be
influenced by its founding ideals of informality, openness, and
diversity.

There is a place for you at Saint Andrew Christian Church! |
|
The church is identified with the Protestant mainstream and is
widely involved in community and other concerns. Disciples have
vigorously supported world and national programs of education,
agricultural assistance, racial reconciliation, care of the
developmentally disabled, and aid to victims of war and calamity.
The denomination now counts nearly 850,000 members in the United
States and Canada.
Numerically, the
strength of the Disciples of Christ runs in a broad arc that sweeps
from Ohio and Kentucky through the Midwest and down into Oklahoma
and Texas.
Children of all ages respond to the Children's Sermon held as part
of Sunday's worship service.
The Disciples claim no
official doctrine. Membership is granted after a simple statement of
belief in Jesus Christ and baptism by immersion - though most
congregations, including Saint Andrew, admit transfers baptized
differently in other denominations. Even though immersion is
virtually the universal Disciples practice, no church authority
requires baptism by a particular form. The Lord's Supper, also
called communion, is open to all Christians and is a central part of
worship each Sunday.

The Annual
Sweetheart Banquet was recently held at an area hotel. It was an
opportunity to get to know each other better and to have fun.

Mission Statement
The people of Saint Andrew Christian Church rejoice in God's spirit
and want to share the Good News of God's love.
In common with other Christian churches (Disciples of Christ), we
gather each Sunday to celebrate the Lord's Supper.
We commit ourselves to seek spiritual growth and discipline through
worship, education, fellowship, service, witness, and prayer.
As caring and loving servants of the Lord, we dedicate our time,
talents, and resources to the needs of people near and far.
